In blackjack all players at the table are dealt 2 cards face-up, and the dealer is dealt 2 cards, one face-down and one face-up. Play then proceeds in a clockwise direction. Players target the score of 21. You can draw as many cards as you wish to do this, but if you go over 21 you are declared bust and your hand is dead.
All the cards 2 to 10 are worth their face value. Face cards (Jack, Queens, Kings) are worth 10, and Aces are worth either 11 or 1 (your choice). If you are dealt an Ace and a card worth 10 straight from the deal then you have blackjack (a score of 21 from the deal).
Once all players at the table have had an opportunity to draw cards or stand on their hands, then the dealer plays his hand drawing to pre-defined house rules (normally drawing on 16 and below and standing on 17+)

Blackjack has quite a lot of strategy possibilities. Many of those come from assesing the dealers upcard, and from splits and from doubles.
